Brutus
Roman senatorial conspirator
Brutus is a name forever linked to betrayal, from Marcus Junius Brutus, who helped assassinate Julius Caesar in 44 BCE.
Shakespeare's "Et tu, Brute?" made the name shorthand for treachery by a trusted friend: He was my Brutus—I never saw the knife coming.
The name is also popular for large dogs, especially guard breeds.
