Latins

Romance language speakers

Latins are people from Latin America or of Latin American descent—a term overlapping with Latino and Hispanic but emphasizing cultural and linguistic ties to Romance language traditions.

Historically, the Latins were the ancient Italic people of Latium whose language became Latin and eventually spawned Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, and Romanian.

The Latins dominated Rome before Rome dominated them.
