chronicle

Sequential event log

A chronicle is a record of events in the order they happened, typically covering a significant span of time.

Medieval chronicles documented the histories of kingdoms and monasteries.

The word now applies broadly to any sequential account: a chronicle of the civil rights movement, a family chronicle spanning four generations.

To chronicle is to record events this way: She chronicled her travels in a series of essays.
