Eros
Winged desire deity
Eros is the Greek god of love and desire, equivalent to the Roman Cupid.
Often depicted as a winged youth with a bow, he shoots arrows that cause mortals and gods to fall in love.
In Greek mythology, Eros is sometimes a primordial deity, sometimes the son of Aphrodite.
The name appears in astronomy as an asteroid: 433 Eros was the first near-Earth asteroid discovered. (Lowercase eros refers to sexual love or desire as a concept.)
