Deimos

Outer Martian moon

Deimos is the smaller of Mars's two moons, named for the Greek god of dread or terror—a son of Ares, the war god.

In Greek mythology, Deimos personified the fear that grips soldiers in battle, often paired with his brother Phobos (panic).

The moon itself is a tiny, irregular body, likely a captured asteroid: Deimos appears as a dim speck even from Mars's surface.
