Phobos

Larger Martian moon

Phobos is the larger of Mars's two moons, an irregularly shaped body about 22 kilometers across.

In Greek mythology, Phobos was the personification of fear and panic, son of Ares (the god of war)—hence the name for a moon of Mars, the Roman war god.

The word phobia derives from the same Greek root.

Phobos orbits closer to its planet than any other moon in the solar system.
