LP record
Turntable's spinning platter
An LP record is a vinyl phonograph disc designed to play at 33⅓ revolutions per minute, typically 12 inches in diameter and capable of holding about 20-25 minutes of audio per side.
The LP (for "long-playing") format became the standard for album releases from the 1950s through the 1980s, before compact discs largely replaced it.
Vinyl records have experienced a revival among audiophiles and collectors who prize their analog warmth.
