anti-skate
Inward drift correction
Anti-skate is a turntable setting that counteracts the natural tendency of a tonearm to drift toward the center of a spinning record.
Without correction, this skating force causes uneven stylus pressure on groove walls, distorting sound and accelerating wear.
Most turntables have an anti-skate dial or weight that applies opposing outward force: Adjust the anti-skate to match your tracking force.
