deep cut

Non-single album track

A deep cut is something known mainly to devoted fans or insiders rather than casual observers.

The term comes from album tracks buried deep in the tracklist, away from the radio singles: They played all deep cuts at the concert.

It extends beyond music to any obscure reference that rewards specialized knowledge: That joke about the 1987 roster was a real deep cut.
