78rpm
Gramophone disc speed
A 78rpm is a phonograph record designed to be played at 78 revolutions per minute, the standard speed for commercial recordings from the 1890s through the late 1950s.
These records were typically made of shellac and held only a few minutes of audio per side.
The format was superseded by 33⅓rpm LPs and 45rpm singles, though collectors still seek vintage 78s: He found some rare jazz 78s at the estate sale.
