Korean Peninsula

DMZ's divided territory

The Korean Peninsula is the landmass extending southward from northeastern Asia, bounded by the Yellow Sea to the west and the Sea of Japan to the east.

Since 1945, it has been divided into North Korea and South Korea along the 38th parallel.

References to the Korean Peninsula often concern unification prospects or regional tensions: denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
