Yellow Sea

Korean-Chinese waters

The Yellow Sea is a shallow body of water between mainland China and the Korean Peninsula, an arm of the Pacific Ocean.

Named for the yellowish sediment carried into it by Chinese rivers, particularly the Yellow River.

Tensions flared over fishing rights in the Yellow Sea.
