Etna

Active Italian peak

Etna is a small portable burner used to heat liquids, typically for making coffee or tea.

The device takes its name from Mount Etna, the active volcano in Sicily—the flame suggesting volcanic fire.

Now largely obsolete, replaced by electric kettles and modern appliances. (Capitalized Etna usually refers to the volcano itself.)
