Atlas Mountains

North African peaks

The Atlas Mountains are a mountain range in northwestern Africa, stretching across Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.

They separate the Mediterranean and Atlantic coastlines from the Sahara Desert.

The range takes its name from Atlas, the Titan of Greek mythology condemned to hold up the sky.
