Eskimos

Traditional igloo builders

Eskimos is the traditional English term for the Indigenous peoples of the Arctic regions of North America, Greenland, and Siberia.

The word is now often considered outdated or offensive, particularly in Canada, where Inuit is preferred.

In Alaska, Eskimo remains acceptable because it includes both Yupik and Inuit peoples, who are distinct groups.

The Eskimos developed sophisticated techniques for surviving in extreme cold.
