Hawaiians

Aloha State residents

Hawaiians are people from Hawaii, the U.S. state comprising islands in the central Pacific Ocean.

The term covers both residents of the state generally and, more specifically, Native Hawaiians—the indigenous Polynesian people who inhabited the islands before Western contact.

Context usually clarifies which sense is meant: Native Hawaiians have fought for sovereignty versus Hawaiians enjoy year-round mild weather.
