Russians

Eastern European nationals

Russians are people from Russia or of Russian ethnic heritage.

The term covers both citizenship and ethnicity—a Russian citizen may or may not be ethnically Russian, and ethnic Russians live throughout former Soviet territories.

As an adjective, Russian describes the language, culture, or anything pertaining to Russia: Russian literature, Russian Orthodox, the Russian winter.
