Anatolians

Residents of Turkey

Anatolians are people from Anatolia, the peninsula that forms the Asian portion of modern Turkey.

The term encompasses various ancient peoples—Hittites, Phrygians, Lydians—as well as modern Turkish inhabitants of the region.

In dog breeding, Anatolian refers to the Anatolian Shepherd, a large livestock guardian breed from the region: Anatolians are known for their independence and protective instincts.
