Halicarnassus
Ancient tomb's location
Halicarnassus was an ancient Greek city on the southwestern coast of Asia Minor, in what is now Bodrum, Turkey.
It was the site of the Mausoleum, the tomb of King Mausolus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World—the structure that gave us the word mausoleum.
The historian Herodotus was born there.
