tombs
Houses for deceased
Tombs are burial chambers or vaults for the dead.
A tomb may be an underground room, a stone structure above ground, or a carved-out space in rock.
The word often suggests something grander than a simple grave: the pharaoh's tomb, a family tomb.
Figuratively, any dark, silent, or confining place: The house was a tomb after she left.
