ziplines

Taut aerial cables

Ziplines are cables suspended between elevated points, fitted with a pulley and harness that allow a person to glide down by gravity.

They appear in adventure parks, canopy tours, and military training.

The singular zipline also works as a verb: We ziplined through the rainforest.
