Blue Ridge

Appalachian mountain range

Blue Ridge refers to the eastern range of the Appalachian Mountains, stretching from Georgia through Virginia into Pennsylvania.

The name comes from the bluish haze that blankets the forested slopes when viewed from a distance.

We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway in autumn.

The term often evokes Appalachian culture, folk music, and mountain heritage.
