z-axis

Perpendicular to floor

The z-axis is the third axis in a three-dimensional coordinate system, typically representing depth or height perpendicular to the x-axis and y-axis.

In most conventions, positive z points upward or toward the viewer: The model extends 50 units along the z-axis.

In 3D graphics and gaming, z-axis values determine what appears in front of or behind other objects.
