dashed line
Intermittent marking path
A dashed line is a line composed of short segments with gaps between them, as opposed to a solid continuous line.
In documents and diagrams, dashed lines often indicate something provisional, suggested, or secondary: The dashed line shows the proposed boundary.
On forms, a dashed line marks where to sign or cut.
