gridline

Graph's faint stripe

A gridline is one of the horizontal or vertical lines that form a grid, whether on paper, a screen, or a map.

In spreadsheet software, gridlines separate cells and help users navigate rows and columns; they can typically be hidden or shown depending on preference.

On graphs and charts, gridlines extend from axis markers to help readers trace data points to their values.

I turned off the gridlines before printing the spreadsheet.
