driveshaft
Rotating power transmitter
A driveshaft is a rotating rod that transmits power from an engine to the wheels or other moving parts.
In rear-wheel-drive vehicles, the driveshaft connects the transmission to the rear axle, running underneath the car: The mechanic said the vibration was coming from a worn driveshaft.
Also called a propeller shaft.
