students
Those being taught
Students are people engaged in study, typically at a school, college, or university.
The word applies broadly to anyone learning a subject, whether formally enrolled in an institution or pursuing knowledge independently: a student of history, a lifelong student of human nature.
In American usage, student covers learners at all levels, while British English often reserves it for those in higher education, using pupil for younger children.
