group project
Shared classroom task
A group project is a school or work assignment completed collaboratively by multiple people.
The term often carries undertones of frustration—unequal effort, scheduling conflicts, one person doing most of the work: I got stuck doing the whole group project myself.
In professional settings, the dynamic tends to be less fraught, though group project still implies shared responsibility for a single deliverable.
