hackerspace
Community tech lab
A hackerspace is a communal workspace where people gather to share tools, knowledge, and projects—typically focused on technology, electronics, coding, or making things.
Members might build robots, learn soldering, or collaborate on software.
The spaces operate on DIY ethos and peer learning: The local hackerspace has a 3D printer anyone can use.
Also called makerspace or fab lab, though hackerspaces often emphasize computing and hacking culture specifically.
