wall sit

Thigh-burning hold

A wall sit is an isometric exercise where you hold a seated position against a wall with no chair—back flat against the wall, thighs parallel to the floor, as if sitting in an invisible chair.

The exercise builds leg strength and endurance through sustained tension: We held a wall sit for two minutes at the end of practice.
