step-ups

Raises onto box

Step-ups are a strength exercise where you step onto an elevated platform, then step back down, alternating legs.

The movement targets the legs and glutes while building balance: I added weighted step-ups to my leg routine.

Step-up also refers to any increase or advancement: a step-up in production, a step-up transformer.
