wainwright
Cart and wagon maker
A wainwright is a person who builds or repairs wagons.
The trade was essential before motorized transport but has largely disappeared.
The word combines *wain* (an old word for wagon) with *wright* (a maker or builder, as in playwright or wheelwright).
Wright survives mainly in surnames: Wainwright, Cartwright, Wheelwright.
