bodger

One who improvises poorly

A bodger is someone who does shoddy, makeshift work—patching things together rather than fixing them properly: The previous owner was a real bodger; nothing in this house is up to code.

In British usage, to bodge is to bungle or cobble together.

Historically, a bodger was a craftsman who turned chair legs on a lathe in the woods, but this sense is now obscure.
