Trace attachment bar
A singletree is a wooden or metal crossbar to which the traces of a harness are attached, allowing a single draft animal to pull a plow, wagon, or other implement.
The bar pivots at its center, equalizing the pull from each side of the animal.
Also called a whiffletree or swingletree.
