ultrasounding
Scanning with soundwaves
Ultrasounding is examining something with ultrasound technology—using high-frequency sound waves to create images of internal structures.
Most commonly refers to medical imaging: The doctor is ultrasounding her abdomen to check the liver.
The standard medical term is "performing an ultrasound," but ultrasounding appears in casual and technical contexts alike.
