sonogram
Fetal imaging printout
A sonogram is an image produced by ultrasound, showing internal body structures by bouncing high-frequency sound waves off tissues.
Most familiar from pregnancy monitoring, where sonograms reveal the developing fetus: The sonogram showed twins.
Also used to examine organs, detect tumors, or guide medical procedures.
The terms sonogram and ultrasound are often used interchangeably.
