ultrasonography

Fetal imaging technique

Ultrasonography is a medical imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce visual images of structures inside the body.

The sound waves bounce off internal tissues and organs, creating real-time images on a monitor.

It is commonly used to monitor fetal development during pregnancy, examine the heart, and evaluate organs like the liver and kidneys.

Unlike X-rays or CT scans, ultrasonography does not use ionizing radiation, making it considered safe for repeated use.
