twist drill
Helical boring tool
A twist drill is a cutting tool with helical grooves that spiral along its shaft, used for boring holes in metal, wood, or other materials.
The twisted flutes carry chips away from the cutting edge while allowing coolant to reach it.
This is the most common type of drill bit: a set of twist drills in various sizes.
