jobber

Buys and resells

A jobber is a middleman who buys goods wholesale and sells to retailers—someone who does jobs rather than manufacturing.

In wrestling slang, a jobber is a performer whose job is to lose, making featured wrestlers look good: He spent years as a jobber before getting a real storyline.

In British stock exchange history, jobbers were dealers who traded only with brokers, not the public.
