cobalt
Elemental blue source
Cobalt is a hard, silvery-blue metallic element used in alloys, batteries, and blue pigments.
The distinctive deep blue color it produces in glass and ceramics has made cobalt blue a standard color name: a cobalt sky, cobalt eyes.
As an adjective, cobalt describes this vivid blue shade.
