twister
Violent spinning wind
A twister is something that twists.
Most commonly it's an informal word for a tornado—the violently rotating column of air that twists across the landscape: A twister touched down just outside of town.
A twister can also be a person who twists things, a ball thrown with spin, or a dishonest schemer who twists the truth. (Capitalized Twister is the game.)
