title pages

Name the work

Title pages are the pages at the front of a book displaying the title, author, and publisher.

A single book has one title page, but the plural refers to the concept generally or to multiple books' title pages: The title pages of Victorian novels often included elaborate subtitles.

In academic writing, title pages present the work's title, author, institution, and date.
