An entry is an act of going in, or a place for entering: The back door is the only entry.
It also means a recorded item—in a ledger, dictionary, or database: She added an entry to the spreadsheet.
In competitions, an entry is a submitted item or the act of submitting: The contest received over a thousand entries.
