printing houses
Where books materialize
Printing houses are businesses that produce printed materials—books, newspapers, pamphlets, and other publications.
The term dates from when printing required large specialized facilities with heavy presses.
The manuscript was accepted by one of London's oldest printing houses.
Now largely synonymous with printer or print shop, though printing house sounds more traditional or literary.
