recto
Verso's opposite side
Recto is the right-hand page of an open book, the front side of a leaf.
In Western books, rectos bear odd page numbers.
The term comes from publishing and bibliography, where it pairs with verso (the left-hand page or back of a leaf): The illustration appears on the recto, with explanatory text on the verso.
