Recto's other half
Verso is the left-hand page of an open book, or the back side of a leaf—the side you see when you turn a page over.
It contrasts with recto, the right-hand page or front side.
In printed books, verso pages typically bear even numbers: The illustration appears on the verso facing page 47.
