tideway
Moon-governed waterway
A tideway is a channel or waterway through which tidal currents flow, particularly the part of a river affected by the ebb and flow of tides.
The term often refers specifically to the tidal portion of the River Thames in London.
More broadly, tideway can describe the route or path that tidal waters take as they move in and out of an estuary or harbor.
The boat made good time traveling with the tideway.
