image-guided
Scan-assisted medical work
Image-guided describes medical procedures that use real-time imaging—X-rays, ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI—to navigate instruments within the body.
The technology allows surgeons to see where they're working without large incisions: image-guided biopsy, image-guided radiation therapy.
The term appears almost exclusively in clinical contexts.
