Racing the clock
A speedrun is an attempt to complete a video game or specific game segment as fast as possible.
Speedrunners exploit glitches, optimize routes, and practice obsessively to shave seconds off records: His speedrun of the original Mario set a new world record.
The term extends to rushing through any task: I speedran my morning routine to catch the early train.
