Min-maxing is a strategy in games where you maximize desirable attributes while minimizing others, often to create an optimal but narrowly specialized character or build.
A min-maxed warrior might have enormous strength but negligible charisma.
The term extends beyond gaming to any approach that pushes certain variables to extremes at the expense of balance: She's min-maxing her schedule to fit in more clients.
